Adolescent Guides

As the adolescent is a part of the environment, the adult is as well. The adult – or guide - must present an environment that contains real-life consequences, where mistakes can be made and learned from, and offers a friendly environment that nurtures healthy relationships between the students as well as with themselves. For the adolescent, the guide is an observer. He/she must have a keen insight into the adolescents’ needs and tendencies. The guide needs to be someone who knows him/herself and is spiritual and intelligent and has faith in each individual. This faith comes from the knowledge of the developmental processes of the child into adolescence. Adolescent guides are responsible for organizing an environment for the adolescent that offers endless opportunities for learning and becoming prepared for adult life.
